  Mission
The mission of the Volunteer Bridge is to provide information,
opportunities, and support for students interested in pursuing
civic involvement through volunteerism.
The Volunteer Bridge supports the general education goals
of the University of North Dakota by providing a centralized
location for students to locate volunteer opportunities
in the Grand Forks community and beyond. This service is
designed to help students develop a capacity and interest
in serving others by providing them with opportunities to
serve. By becoming involved in the variety of volunteer
opportunities, students develop a sense of responsibility,
both to specific communities and to a culturally pluralistic
world. Finally, by participating in out-of-classroom experiences
through volunteering, students have the opportunity to develop
a greater personal satisfaction through access to the larger
social, political, economic, scientific, and aesthetic culture.
To accomplish this mission, the Volunteer Bridge will provide:
- a centralized location for connecting students and community
groups interested in volunteer services;
- an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful
civic involvement through a variety of service activities;
- leadership skill development through service to others
which enriches campus and community;
- support for curriculum enrichment through service learning.
