Travel Information

Financial Funding Information for Travel

Organizational travel may be an expensive commitment for your student organization.  Your organization may need to collect student member contributions, hold fundraising projects, and seek assistance through on-campus funding sources.  Below are potential sources of on-campus funding, dependent on the purpose of travel and the eligibility of your organization.

Student Activities Committee (SAC) -> Standing Committees -> Student Activities Committee -> Forms

Student Activities Committee funding is made available through Student Activity Fees and is available when the purpose of the travel is related to the purpose of the student organization.  Eligible organizations may receive up to three transportation allocations per academic year.

  • Submit request to the Student Government office (Transportation Request Form)
    • Attach verification (printout from conference website, trip itinerary)
  • Attend allocation meeting
    • Check with SAC liaison for exact date of meeting
  • Upon return, complete report (Transportation Report Form)
    • Submit to Student Government office within 20 days of organization’s return
    • Attach receipts of travel expenses (UND Transportation statements, airline ticket receipts, gas receipts)
  • SAC Transportation funding is transferred into an organization’s on-campus fund after the organization’s Transportation Report Form is received and processed
  • Organizations that receive Student Government funding must be audited at the end of the academic year.  See the Coordinator of Student Organizations for assistance.
